Meet Gillian Wasney.
Gillian Wasney is a committed and hard-working lawyer residing in Calgary, Alberta. She is passionate about the law and defending her clients.
Gillian earned her law degree at the University of Calgary in 2019 and was called to the bar in 2020. Prior to attending law school she completed a master’s degree in public policy at the University of Calgary in 2012, and an honour’s degree in political science from the University of Alberta in 2011.
She spent five years working as an analyst in the energy industry before attending law school - she has a wealth of practical work experience. Once in law school, she worked at Student Legal Assistance, a pro-bono law clinic that provides legal representation to low-income clients. There she gained experience in civil, family and criminal law.
Gillian completed her articles of clerkship with a senior criminal defence lawyer in Calgary, Alberta. She worked on numerous criminal trials and files, including two high-profile murders cases. She has extensive court experience, including in both judge and jury trials.
She is a strong advocate, a fierce negotiator, and is committed to helping the public.
